As someone who loathes snow I have really mixed feelings about this. On the one hand, I’ve loved this winter and its mild temperatures. On the other hand, it also makes me weep for our imminent climate doom.

Maybe I just caught them on an off day, but I was kind of underwhelmed by Texas Jack’s. I heard so many people rave about it, but it was just…okay. Not sure it would make my top five in the DC area. I’d put 2Fifty, Hill Country, DCity Smokehouse, Federalist Pig, and Smoke &Barrel (RIP), ahead of them.

Wait, what? I mean, I can understand saying it’s not your personal favorite barbecue place in the city, but it’s definitely good barbecue. What would you consider to be good barbecue in DC?

I would suspect that it’s proportional to the number of people who are actually in town on NYE. So much of DC’s population leaves town for the holidays that the scale of the celebration shrinks to match it.

Lucky Buns and Roaming Rooster are two completely different categories, imo. RR is the best fast food chicken sandwich you’re ever going to have. LB is not fast food and the price is way higher. This is an apples to oranges comparison.

Right by the fire station/speed camera, right? Yeah, people end up in the left turn lane and try to jam their way over to the right lane. That intersection, in both directions, needs signs on the stoplight arms indicating the inside lane is left turn only so people can see it coming.

Christmas has all the fights. And the same food. Worse travel conditions. And you also have to spend half your life savings buying presents for people. Not to mention being obligated to go to a dozen stupid holiday parties you don’t want to go but have to. And there’s having to listen to the same six stupid Christmas songs ad nauseam.
Thanksgiving is just a single day, with better weather, hanging out with the people you love, eating your face off, then drinking beer and watching football. THEN you get the rest of a 4-day weekend to yourself. And you’re done in a single day as opposed to having to deal with it for a month and a half. Thanksgiving rules.
