My point is "it's too much of a hassle". Majority of people including myself, just wanna plug and play. I tested oratory1990's EQ harman target. Does it sound good afterwards? Yes. But stock tuning sounds good to my ears as well. There're different, but not for the worse or better. OP asked why people chose not to use EQ. That's my answer. I'm happy with my iem's stock sound signature.

Too much of a hassle. I was using my Shure SE846 with oratory1990's EQ for a short while then no longer bother. I believe if you need to EQ your headphones in order to like them, then they're simply not for you.

That's not how DAC works. Different ear tip might help. Some ear-tips lower the treble extension which in turn increase the perception of the lower end. Few notable example such as the Final E ear tip, Spinfit CP500 etc

Do you have any general idea of how the intelligent equalizer works? For some reason I hear very little diffirence between detailed/balanced/warm preset. Music mode seems to disable many DSP effects, while Movie mode seems to add crossfeed and some reverb/hall effect. I also don't understand the Game mode, especially the Performance preset. Could you shed some light based on your knowledge of the software?

Highest bitrate and 48000hz

Byerdynamic are notorious for extremely bright yet detailed headphone. Own a pair of DT990 Pro, can't listen to it for more than 15 minutes. Though some people really appreciate its clarity. I suggest try em out at a shop before making any purchase. Otherwise, hd600 always is the safer bet.
