Contempt for police is caused by police not by moral decline. The police need norms of civilized behavior.

It doesn't matter who wins the election. The police union runs the city. That's true about every city in America.

They are still building many new houses (mostly 2 family because it's Newark) in Newark outside of downtown to replace old houses that deteriorate. They are building tall apartment and condo buildings downtown because that space is valuable and a lot of people want to live there.

Many of the NJ Transit branches only have service about once an hour, which makes them unusable because you can't afford to miss your train. Make the service every 15 minutes and make the tickets cheaper and more people will use it.

NYC enacted congestion pricing because Manhattan doesn't have room for all those cars. The NJ state government is about to spend $4B to widen the turnpike approaching the tunnels to NYC. It should spend that money on reliable public transportation to make it easier to get to NYC and around NJ without a car.

They should extend HBLR into the Ironbound, although I would rather have the high speed and high frequency Path. They shouldn't develop Kearny Point for anything other than industrial use, it doesn't make sense for people to live there.

It's a beautiful house, I hope it can be replicated somewhere in a lower density part of the city. But we need more housing close to the train station.

She is trying to hold government contractors accountable for all the tax dollars they get paid. It's making some powerful people uncomfortable. The supposed scandal, conducting a poll for an election you're not running in, only happened because we don't have ranked choice voting so she had to figure out which candidate to strategically support.

Not really. Brick and Toms River have as much population density as the blue suburbs. It's cultural differences.

Reply to JC rents are insane by ahtasva
While NYC has hundreds of subway stations, NJ has 7 Path stations. Renting near one of these Path stations is getting more expensive because there's a lot of demand for easy train access into the middle of Manhattan. Obviously NJ should expand the Path, or make NJ Transit service more frequent and cheaper. It will pay for itself in increased property values.
