It used to be driving east once you left Seattle there wasn’t any decent coffee til you hit Spokane. Then they put in a Starbucks in Moses Lake, which some would debate is “decent” coffee, but it’s something. I’d say the line was moved over to Moses Lake, for coffee purposes. Kind of a dessert after that!

And you would be surprised…I know someone who believed it, went out and got 1500.00 in Walmart cards. You scratch off the code, take a picture and they have that money immediately. People do fall for these scams

What kind of a car are you driving? If the pass is clear, no problem but if there is snow or ice🤷🏻‍♀️. In the winter I drive a 4Runner with traction tires for the pass,Snoqualmie. I never drive over Stevens Pass, many, many deaths there. Better to drive SNO and Blewett Pass. Start looking at the Washdot website or app for current mountain pass conditions. They are usually accurate. Snowed on tne pass yesterday 🤷🏻‍♀️

That’s because he can’t see. You can’t blow glass with one eye. No depth perception. Those that work for him do get invaluable glass work exposure. It’s hard to start out in glass blowing. Very expensive to develop your style and path. Same thing in Murano. You would be an apprentice for many years. I don’t think going to look at the work denigrates the final product.

Amazon went back to the 10 minute useless break. It was 15 mins during the pandemic. They are strict about the 30 min meal break. Clock in /out for the 10min break. You can’t even walk to the bathroom and back in 10 mins.

North Cascades NP, Olympic NP, Mount Rainer, the Columbia River, the Palouse, the Nisqually wildlife refuge, Cycling on the San Juan islands, the tulips in the Skagit Valley, the rhododendrons that bloom in my yard, skiing at Mission Ridge, and the low key western people. I left out cross country skiing in Winthrop/Mazama. Also up there the chance for profoundly dark skies and the profound quiet!

My job allowed me to live other places and return here. I lived in Denver, Washington DC, Maryland, Tahoe City, CA, been to all 50 states, lived in Europe, brother lives in Maine and lived in WY. They just left WY and returned to Maine. So I was there a lot. Always return to WA. Keep your roots in WA, just do some travel. I would go to Maine and say, “where are all the tall tree forests”? They have forests but the trees are squatty and unimpressive. Mountains unimpressive after experiencing anything west of Denver. I go to MT or WY almost every winter to ski…yes, beautiful, but I find the people weird. Weather on the east coast in the summer? Do you like to sweat in the humidity? Do you like bugs? Just do some travel…you’ll be really glad to come back to WA.

I drive to Winthrop WA once a month year round. I-90, Blewett pass is the safest. Much more plowing on those 2 and a lot more passing lanes than the death trap highway 2. Just be checking the WashDot website for mountain passes and their webcam reports.

This was yesterday at around 2:00pm. I had heard about the hoards showing up scoring their visits to the beautiful places in the NCP. As I traveled further on, next place is Easy Pass, no one there and Blue Lake wasn’t that crowded either. Just had not seen that many cars there. Ironically, the smoke was so heavy, you could barely see Diablo Lake. I don’t think I would enjoy a hike with 50 people crowding along.

Another really nice place is Sun Mountain Lodge in Winthrop WA. She could drive over to east Chewach road and go to a yoga class at Motive Yoga with Stacy, the owner. They also have class Yoga and Beer! Only place I’ve seen that is Twisp WA, tne next little town over🤷🏻‍♀️
