Usually out here by harrisburg we usually only see them near the river or up higher flying so when this beauty stopped to eat a roadkill deer everyone was stopping

We've only started seeing them in this area within the past few years. 20 years ago even Hawk Mountain would only have one or two sightings a year. It's amazing how well the population has come back!

I actually saw one when I was going hunting with my dad in New Milford last year

I do too. There's a nest right above the Strip District in Pittsburgh. Love seeing them and the hawks circling.

We just bought a house along the river, and they perch in the trees in the backyard. Unfortunately my camera isn't very good and the tree branches are good cover, so I rarely get shareable pics.

Grew up in Lancaster County, wasn't until my mid 20s before I saw one.
Now, 20 years later, they seem to be everywhere (I now live in western PA).

Probably one of the coolest moments of my life is when I was at Ft. Indiantown Gap walking from the barracks to the laundromat. A helicopter was taking off nearby and flying low and overhead, and as I looked up to watch it pass over me, there was a bald eagle flying right underneath it in the same direction.
Badass.

Saw one about two weeks ago on the first green at Armitage golf course in Mechanicsburg. Never seen one in the wild and was kinda shocked just how large of a bird it was. Plus it was picking at some kinda small animal. So cool.

French Creek has a pair, they're a good pair for people to know about and visit because they live in the middle of the lake so no one can bother them.
John Heinz has a pair in the middle of the Marsh too. Funny enough if you look up in the sky from the stadiums you may see one of them, I know they hunt around the navy yard I've seen them while fishing there.

I almost hit one driving to Erie one day. It was eating something on the side of the road but it flew away before I got to it. I never realized how massive they are

It's so weird. When I was a kid, they were on the verge of extinction. Now, my brother is worried about them attacking his lambs.

If you go out to Middle Creek on the LebCo/LanCo border, you'll sometimes see them taking down a snow goose at this time of year. There is also a nesting pair just off the lake.

Eagles smell less than the turkey vultures.

Saw one a few years back at my parents place (suburbs northwest of Philly). It landed in a stream in their backyard, pulled out a pretty sizable fish, and proceeded to eat it in the lawn. It was so cool!

not in PA, but I was at mt vernon last summer and while we were at washington's old tomb, two bald eagles flew out over the river and perched in a branch right next to the tomb. it was comically patriotic

When I came home for break, I saw so many eagles around. In Chester country, usually once in every few years I would see one, but I saw like over 10 in less than a month!
NotNowDamo t1_j80f5wz wrote
The Susq, especially around Pequea and Chickies Rock has them. As does Muddy Run.
But the Allegheny National Forest's Kinzua Reservoir in McKean County is thick with them. I have yet to visit that lake without seeing them.

Beautiful creatures aren’t they? They actually have quite a few running around in the lower Delaware area. To the point where next to a huge nest they we’re building a new development and decided to name it Eagle Glenn. I enjoy watching them snatch up snow geese for dinner lol.

There's one that lives in the woods near my house. It took one of my chickens last year. I still see it cruising over my property looking for more about once a week. It's crazy how common they're getting, when I was a kid it was a pretty big deal to see one, and I still feel that way, even though I've got one that has become a minor nuisance.

wait, what? No, you've got it all wrong. People who believe the Earth is flat are the same people who believe birds are real.
Birds used to be real but they have long long since gone extinct. See, its like when Christians try and tell you that dinosaur bones are God testing our faith, only the government is reinforcing your belief in birds to hide the fact that our planet and ecology is all fucked up. One need only to disassemble any common bird to see what I mean.
