Why anyone thought Facebook messages and comments were the best form of seeking information is beyond me. Everyone and their mother messages Patrick when there's something off on their order or seeking other information, and he's stated dozens of times that he's behind on messages since he receives so many every day.

On the parents getting shit on in the comments: I feel like that's the problem with people these days. Those comments are horrific, but it seems par for the course for these parts. They have lost all sense of compassion. And a small part of me feels like some are especially vitriolic because the family isn't white. Of course, Pat isn't either, but "he's the good kind who's done good for us etc etc". I just don't think the comments would be quite the same if it was a nice white middle class family.

Plus the number of comments saying KY3 is like all other media (liars)/NBC affiliate/etc. It's the damn MAGA talking points about the big scary "mainstream media". Ashley Reynolds is a citizen of our community, not some scary Liberal Communist Satan worshipper or whatever the hell people are enraged with these days. Her report genuinely seemed to give a fair shake at the story from both sides, and I think Pat gave his honest to God truth on his mistakes and ownership of the situation.

Obviously it matters because you have Feelings about the matter. For the kind of roommates OP is looking for, it makes complete sense to give that type of information. This post isn't about you, obviously isn't geared towards you, so stop making it about yourself and how confused you are about someone else's existence.

You're coming off as a complete ass trying to tell OP what they are and aren't, especially since you're wrong.

You're equating non-binary (not woman or man) with gender non conforming, which means one doesn't follow the stereotypical roles and presentation that is expected of their gender (such as butch women or femme men). They're contradictory to each other since non-binary can't be gender non conforming simply because they aren't one of the binary genders to begin with. OP literally says she's a woman, who's lesbian, and is gender non-conforming, which means she doesn't conform to typical woman behaviors/presentation.

Stay in your lane and stop arguing what you don't understand.

Use common sense and understand how a snow plow and salt works. They definitely only function to remove built up snow to make it easier for vehicles to pass through under essential travel. It's not possible for them to take the bucket right to the asphalt, and they also risk damaging equipment and the road surface if they try. Plus, as others have already said, salt doesn't work at these low of temps, and what does melt just refreezes into a sheet of ice. It's not feasible for the city to pay out millions of dollars so someone can drive their junky Pontiac G6 for two days as if it were normal driving conditions. Ice is okay to drive on, provided people aren't idiots.

AKA: Damn Jackie, I can't control the weather.

I love Chihuahua Bakery tamales. I don't know if they're still taking orders, but I message them on Facebook and let them know how many we want. Pork, chicken Verde, jalapenos and cheese, or sweet variety.

They're a food truck with a plywood entrance just west of West Bypass on Chestnut.

When I applied for Quantum, it said it was available for my home. In actuality, it was available down the street from my house, and would require me to pay $1500 to get it built the rest of the way. The tech that came out apologized, saying he hated they would just let these kinds of bookings go through when they already know in the system if it would require additional work and people didn't want to pay extra like that. He was cool and said ATT actually just installed fiber in front of my house (which I mistakenly thought was Quantum) and their service is good too.

During the pandemic, he was selling tp and basic food supplies like flour at cost to the public; he supported other restaurants by catering for his team and giving glowing reviews on his social media, I think he also gave gift cards for other restaurants at one point... Anyhow, your comment is blatantly wrong and just pathetically trying to put down arguably one of the most community-focused small business owners in SWMO.

I have been to Ichiban once, and only once, and it was the worst Chinese buffet food I've ever had. It was a busy Saturday night (although that place is always busy, and idk how), so the food was hot and moving fast. But everything tasted awful and my stomach was not happy afterwards.

I consider myself to have some low standards for acceptably good food and a strong stomach. And Ichiban didn't meet them.

I had Asian King Buffet a couple years ago, it was decent. I don't think I had anything remarkable to say about the quality, but we decided to go on a night they had crab legs (which we don't eat), and it was a gruesome sight seeing the swarms on the crab legs as they barely left the catering pan before being fondled onto plates by buttery hands.

Edit to add: Diamond Head in Republic was good once upon a time, but I've not been since pre-pandemic.

Team Taco uses cardboard packaging. Thai Express uses plastic, but they're the nicer kind that's reusable. Boskys uses sustainable packaging.

I'm at a loss on Chinese restaurants.... All the standard places I'm aware of use styrofoam clamshells. Except, like the family pack (individual entrees/sides) at Panda Express with the classic Chinese boxes.

Thinking of Hong Kong Inn, Cashew Station, Bao Bao, Cashew Chef, and Lucy's.

I haven't had China King in years, but, at least the one in Republic, used plastic containers.
