I’m closer to 40 than 30 but I was just thinking about this the other day. I remember how AOL (lol) chat rooms or even MySpace was on the internet, but seemed to partner well with in person socializing. I think maybe because it wasn’t so universally used, and maybe not as intrusive I don’t know.

I love the internet, I just wish it was still less algorithms and more intentional navigation. If that makes sense. It’s just so “noisy” out there now.

Anyway, I’m an introvert and even I am missing real human experiences these days.

There are only two acceptable answers:

  1. 75 years of age or older older?

  2. You just woke up moments ago from a multi year coma and the nursing staff hasn’t had a chance to speak with you yet.

My wife called me old when I started complaining about how loud places were. Turns out it’s intentional! They want you to eat fast and leave so another paying customer can take your place, or you drink more alcohol to compensate.

So no, wifey, it’s not cool…it’s a mildly tortuous room that we spent money in. Lol.

Exposed vents and intentional lack of sound absorbing materials to make the dining experience similar to a Jr High cafeteria at noon. Lol.

Very true. I moved here recently and came from a city with lots of huge suburbs. Even just replacing the sprinkler system in the 3 parks were blowing the budget apart. Let alone a bunch of other common area issues that are cropping up.

Many cities have fully banked on the associations to do maintenance and code enforcement so it’s not like they can just come in and fix things either. Should be interesting to watch at least.

I couldn’t live like that. I just went around my new house straightening the faceplate screws lol, no way could I handle the box opening.

Thank you. Even if the win is small in comparison to an overall problem, it’s still important to be aware of it. I think a huge miss in environmental issues is how doomsday everything is. Makes a lot of people throw their hands up and say F it.

I get downvoted anytime I’m on a wildlife sub because I sometimes mention the numerous species that are doing great in the last 50 years. I guess it doesn’t fit the narrative? I dunno, I’d like to be aware of it and how it was accomplished. Shrug.

There have been numerous states that have passed those laws many years ago. AZ did so as of 2010, with the gun death rate decreasing for several years afterwards.

Not really saying it’s right or whatever, but there’s not a universal correlation in all cases between constitutional carry and gun violence.
