I could still hear her pristine voice in the background of our room as I rolled out from the bed that seemed way to big. I shakily grabbed my cane and got ready for the day ahead as memories of her flooded my mind. Particularly that one day.

...

Her long ears were red and eyes dripping with tears as her silver blond hair laid messily around her as she cried in my arms.

"Why are you crying?" I tightened my loving embrace.

"I am an elf in love with a human. Why wouldn't I?" Her swollen blue elvish eyes looked into mine with love and sadness.

"I will out live you by more then a thousand —." Her voice cracked and couldn't finish the sentence.

I parted her hair Infront of her eyes and shaking shoulders while my other palm rested upon her heart.

I tried to comfort her.

"I will always be with you here...This is the start of a bloodline that you and I created. You will get to see your great grankids and great great great grankids. What's wrong with that? I probably won't be able to live long enough to see my great grandkids, but you—you could live long enough to see it through to the end. That's amazing. I wish I could see that with my own eyes. You might be sad to see me go but that's years and years away. Humans are all about the here and now. At least I am. So let's enjoy ourselves for how precious it is and please don't cry anymore?"

She cried even louder.

"You bastard. How could I fall in love with such a numbskull. Thanks for telling me that you're just the first of many that I will have to mourn!" She mumbled forlornly, her tears all dried up. Now she just looked angry as she put her head into the pillow to dry her tears.

I pinched her wet cheek to make her gem like eyes look back at me. Sunlight cut through the curtains. Her face basked in the warmth as her white skin glowed.

I'm an idiot. I wish I could understand. Wait, why can't I understand? What if she disappears one day? I would be heartbroken.

I looked at her sternly.

"Are you mourning me already when I'm right here in front of you? How cruel." I teased.

She smiled weakly.

"And how do you know that you will out live me?"

Her blue eyes widened.

"I fear the unknown. Elves might have an incredible lifespan but they are not immortal. I also fear what life would be like without you. You are not alone in this fear."

She laughed bitterly. "You're dreaming. Me? An elf wizard of the highest order—killed? They would have to send an army."

"Now there's my Claire Silverthorn I know and love." I kissed her on the forehead as she laughed harder before sighing.

"You have a point. I am not immortal. If I was to die you would obviously be just as sad as I will be when old age claims you. Doesn't really make me feel any better knowing that though." She kissed my lips and pouted.

"Thanks for trying to cheer me up."

I gave her a signature look making her look at me curiously.

"Love is terrifying huh?"

She shivered as she stretched in bed and pulled the covers over herself.

"Very."

"But it's also pretty amazing." I whispered in her ear and traced my finger down her back.

...

I looked at a huge oak tree. The leaves danced gracefully in the wind as the sun set in it's red glow. The thick oak wood glowed orange as the smell of fresh nature entered my senses.

I fell to my knees and stared for a moment at a smoothed part of the wood with mysterious elven glyphs and runes. I reached out and gently touched the name with my finger tips. The rune lit up as a subtle wind blew the old man's grey hair as something magical took place. All around the oak tree, a calm breeze blew the grass from the trunk outwards making all nearby trees dance. The firefly's scattered and lit the field with tiny green and red lights.

"Me and my big mouth." I laughed sadly.

"You told me you would outlive me a thousand years. You liar."

" A whole army you said...well you weren't far off..."

A few wet drops fell on the smooth stone on the ground beneath the enormous tree.

"Why did you have to go?" I said softly with unspeakable emotions. The flowers around the tree blossomed as if in answer.

"Dad?" A young man looking no older then 25 with longer than normal ears and blond hair came up and put his hand on my shoulder in worry. I hurriedly wiped my eyes and took a few deep breaths— trying to take back control.

A moment of silence passed with nothing but different birds singing in the background peacefully. The half elf knelt down and touched the rough bark of the tree as the rune glowed and gave life to the field nearby.

"Hi mom...Don't worry, I'm taking care of this old man here. He talks about you all the time you know? It's almost like I know you even if I never truly heard your voice...I'm also doing great if you're wondering. I have friends that think you're some kind of legend or something and I'm currently an expert in wind magik which I heard was thanks to you. I also know the sword thanks to dad. Also, there's this women Alice who won her way to my heart. I'm sure you would like her. Thanks for everything mom. I'll be sure to live up to your name...I wish I got to know you more." The long ear man shed a tear for a mom he has no memories of. I put my hand on his shoulder. As another wind gust from the rune caressed the field.

"Alright." I said softly, proud of the son I raised. I stood up and gazed at the memorizing sight of the elvish gravesite of my one and only wife. Still as beautiful as ever. Even after death.

I still got a few years in me. But what's a few years to an elf like you? You will be seeing me soon.

"Let's go son."

I turned and slowly made the trek back home with my son by my side.

"So any news on Alice yet? She pregnant yet? Where my grandkids? You got work to do boy." I gave him a devilish grin.

"Dad?!" The elvish man's ears turned red.

"I'm not talking about this with you." He said defiantly, arms crossed.

I burst out in laughter as the sun set in the horizon.

"Man, you are ugly. You're definitely staying single for life with that face." My sword pretended to gag as I wiped blood off my brow. My short black hair drenched ruby red in the sunlight. I whipped my blade covered in blood as it scattered onto the grass.

"You missed a spot. Also, you handle a sword like a toddler." I've had this sword for a couple years now. I bought it for only a few copper. I thought it was an amazing deal seeing that it looked like an amazing weapon. The sword edge shined deep red in a way that made it look unique. I could sense its power within.

"I'm honestly surprised you made it this far."

I was curious why it was cheap. The guy looked really desperate to get rid of it. When I took the sword home. It was silent like any other blade. That lasted about two days. I still remember the first words it spoke to me. I was going to cut a roast from a boar I just recently hunted. I cooked it under a fire while camping out. "You. You better not be thinking about what I think your thinking. I am not a cooking knife. Put me down right now." I stopped reminiscing, returning to the present.

"If it wasn't for me, these orcs would have slaughtered you and ate you for breakfast the next day." I ignored him as I walked over the mangled dead bodies of orcs scattered around me like fresh leaves shaken from a tree.

"You smell like orc shit." That time I laughed.

"Why you laughing?!" The sword asked offended.

"Because I'm wondering how a sword can even smell."

The sword went silent a moment.

"I don't need to smell to know you smell of orc shit."

"Touche." I said calmly while trying to withhold a giggle. The sword sighed.

"You are no fun. Out of all the owners I had, you are the only one that can take my insults calmly without any reactions."

"I want a new owner." The sword said begrudgingly.

I smiled condescendedly.

"Unfortunately for you, you're stuck with me since no one can handle your snide remarks...except me."

"Grr." The sword grunted in reply while I laughed harder.

"You got another 3 orcs on your six. You better not embarrass me again." I turned around and glanced at the orcs that slowly approached me. They looked at their dead brethren before glaring at me.

Roar! They charged at me seeking blood and vengeance as well as honor and glory.

"Your posture is wrong! Spread your legs and bend your knees. How many times do I have to say this?!" I did as I was told.

"To your left you buffoon." I swung at an angle as an orc brought an axe down to my left. I redirected the axe so that it fell beside me. The sword glowed green as a wind gust increased the momentum of the axe. It got stuck into the ground. I aimed for his neck as he tried to pull it out. A clean slice. A head flew.

"Hey, watch it! I might be the most powerful sword in existence but glancing an axe still makes me uncomfortable. It's like getting felt up by a stranger." The sword vibrated from the powerful contact.

I span 360 degrees and used my momentum to kick the falling head at the next orc to my right. The orc who was in mid swing with a wild hail maker punch growled as it eyes widened as the head flew true and hit him right in the face. The orc stumbled backwards as it became blind from the blood of his people.

"Hahahaha now that was brilliant!" The sword shined in a blue glow as an ice blade shot out of it and cut the orc in half.

"Oh I think that's the first compliment you have ever given me."

"Shut up! Behind you!"

I flipped the sword in a backwards grip and stabbed behind me. I tilted my body as a sword flew and cut off a strand of my hair on the way down. I felt flesh as my talking sword sunk into the orcs gut. I turned swiftly and pulled—the orcs head flying a moment later. I took a breath to recollect myself.

"Never. I mean never. Stab me in an orcs gut again. It was bloody disgusting. You better give me a good wipe down later."

"Sure thing buddy."

"Hmph!"

I glanced at the dead bodies one last time before gathering all their teeth before making my way back to the adventurers guild. My task accomplished...

I looked at my classroom as the bell rang and they cheered as they left the room for it was the last bell of the day and time for them to go home. I am a teacher. But it's mainly a past time of mine. A side gig if you will. My actual job is saving lives and putting bad people behind bars. I'm a superhero after all and not just any superhero but one of the best in the nation. Not many villains can give me much trouble. Except for one...my nemesis. I thought about my nemesis as I started gathering my things. My nemesis is one of the most powerful villains I have come across and also the most bizarre. She doesn't seem like a bad person but she always seems caught up in the worst things happening around town. I've come close to arresting her a few times so I could interrogate her only for her to slip away every time. The few conversations we had with each other is short quips and bantering as we fought around town. The other day she made fun of my costume! Can you believe that? My costume is amazing I'd have you know. Hmm, She even avoids bloodshed unlike normal villains. I really don't know what to think about her. I stood up from my desk.

Alex who usually sits and stares out the window in the back of the classroom came up to me. "T-teacher, I need help with understanding what we just went over. Can you help me?" Alex is a good kid. If he wouldn't daydream all day, he would probably be one of my best students. He might not be the smartest or brightest but he is the kind that works hard to understand the things he doesn't.

"Sure." I checked my watch. I have a date with my nemesis at 6 in midtown...I have time. I put my things down and started tutoring the kid.

...

Time flew by and I had to wrap it up.

"Okay it's time for me to go." I raised a brow at the kid.

"Your mother is picking you up right?"

"Yes. She should be here now."

"I'll walk you to your car then." That's what any good teacher should do.

"Okay!" The kid smiled as he led the way as we walked out of school into the parking lot. There I saw a women waiting for her child. She had brown hair and honey colored eyes. She went up to her kid and crouched to eye level. "Next time you stay for tutoring let me know before hand, okay Alex?" She scolded as she roughed up his hair much to the displeasure and embarrassment of the kid. Oh I completely forgot to let his parent now he was staying for tutoring! How unprofessional of me.

I should apologize...wait. I feel like I know this women.

She stood up and looked at me. Her eyes widened in recognition before she quickly masked her reaction.

"You. You taught him well I suppose?" The women seemed to know something about me.

Come on. Think. Why does she look so familiar?! Ugh this is driving me nuts.

Suddenly a image of my nemesis in her costume and mask popped into my head that seemed to align perfectly with the women in front of me. My heart started beating rabidly.

No way?! It couldn't be...she's my nemesis!?

I calmed my nerves as I replied calmly.

"Well I certainly didn't teach him anything "bad" if that's what your asking...joked aside he's doing well. Other then daydreaming in my class, He's a good kid. I apologize I didn't call and let you know he was staying for tutoring."

"Hmm. That's good. Glad to hear it and it's quite alright. It happens." She laughed before squinting her eyes at me knowingly.

"Thanks for teaching my son and giving him the time he needs. I'll be on my way now." She turned and walked around her car and open the door. As she was getting in the car she said one final thing.

"See you tonight." She smirked as she got in and then drove off while I watched blankly.

"This isn't good. My nemesis knows my secret identity...but I also know hers now. What a dilemma." I mumbled and sighed while walking to a motorcycle of my own in the teacher only space.

I wonder what I should say to her when we see each other later? Whatever happens my identity needs to be kept secret and I'm sure it's the same for her...

I put on my helmet and gear and rode off into the sunset...

Oh that also fits well! Could be. Karma, fate, destiny, luck. In the end they are all similar yet different, separated by a fine line. Which is why I find it so interesting. The guy could be a manifestation of all those concepts into one to form one insanely awesome power. ohh, I like that thought. I should try writing a story on this and see where it leads me. hehe

Thanks! He has the power of luck. But to describe further it's more like he has control over his own fate and bend others fates and destinies to his will. There is a limit and a drawback if he uses too much. I always wanted to read a book on this kind of power. Saw this prompt and it fit.

P.s. if anyone has read a book with a similar power let me know. I will probably read it. Lol

"Who did this to you?" I asked, a fire lit within me.

"T-the...t-the...h-heros." The man barely got the words out as he tried to sit up, his legs bent in weird angles. His eye blinded by blood dripping down from a gashed eyebrow. His face swollen to an unrecognizable degree. I reached out and helped him to a chair.

"Thanks."

"Don't mention it. I'm assuming you mean the C-class heros that have been harassing me with their childish speeches? The man nodded painfully. A window cracked under my anger.

I'm usually a chill guy. The type that doesn't take life too seriously. I've been dubbed "The comically incompetent villain." And I had no problem with that. I was completely happy with the way things are...but this? I looked at my other employees that were hurt in a similar fashion.

I walk into work every day as their boss. They smile and always go above and beyond for me. Even when it gets tough for them, they don't complain. I've gotten to know each and every one of them. I know about their lives, their hopes, and their dreams...as well as what holds them back and the lessons and regrets that haunt them in life.

I looked at the pudgy women that always brings in the most delicious donuts in for everybody to enjoy. Her smile contagious. I looked at the guy that always asks how everyone is doing and listens like a true man. I looked at the older man that is always willing to teach whoever is willing to listen about the job. I looked at the jokester that never failed to make someone laugh. Then finally I looked at the young man that just joined and was once full of life now unmoving on the floor. Thankfully he wasn't dead...yet.

These are my people. They call me evil. They call me a villain. They say that villains treat people less then human. But what about them? People say they are hero's but as I looked at this display before me, it does not seem that way at all. I learned long ago that there really is not a right or wrong way. Just your way...and what ever suits his or hers self-interest...The world is terribly grey and I'm about to show them the way I do things when I'm pissed off. I looked solemnly at my employees.

"They will pay for this. You have my word." I said with a raw emotion that I couldn't describe. The employees looked at me sympathetically. The old man Phill spoke up gruffly between broken teeth giving him and odd lisp as he talked. "You don't have to. We understood the moment we accepted the job that something like this could happen one day." I just glanced at him before turning around. I couldn't look any further. I started to make my way out the building. On my way out the door I said something more to myself then to them. "I will go and I will show them what regret looks like."

...

It was raining cats and dogs outside as I paused Infront of a bar close to hero HQ. Thunder and lightning flashed in the reflection of the windows. This is the place these C-class heros like to hang out.

I walked inside casually and spotted the heros I was dying to see. The other people saw me. Noticing that I'm not here for fun, they either left the bar or walked where they thought would be out of harm's way. The group glanced at the front door and their eyes widened before smiling at me. The bald guy laughed while his team joined in. The skinny man next to him lit a cigarette while the women with butch hair and tattoos slouched down into a seat comfortably as if getting ready to watch a show.

"You finally made it! I was thinking you would be joining us. Did you like our little gift we sent to your employees? I think they liked it." The muscular hero with a bald head said mirthfully as he downed a shot.

"You lot sure enjoyed yourselves. You guys have been extremely lucky that I've been such a tolerant guy. Now your luck has ran out." That group burst out into laughter. The bald man walked up to me until he was face to face.

"You? A failure and laughingstock of a villain? Alright show me. Show me why even A class heros don't dare touch you?" The bald man with super strength hurled his shot glass on to the floor. The glass exploded as he clenched his fist—A hail maker in the works.

I raised an eyebrow.

"Alright, but don't blame me. Blame your stupidity for pissing me off. Ah, this really is Darwinism at it's finest." I smirked as I gathered my power.

Suddenly, the skinny man that was smoking started coughing up a fit as he struggled to get ahold of himself. The women's chair leg snapped as she fell on her ass stunned. The bald man that was at this moment in mid swing tripped on his own two feet and fell face first into the pieces of glass that was now on the floor.

"Ahhhh! My eyes!" The man growled in pain as he stood back up. Now blinded, He tried to go for a tackle.

"I'll kill you!" He yelled as he looked as if he was crying blood.

I dodged easily as I picked up a beer bottle that just happened to be conveniently right where I needed it and smashed it on his head as the force of his tackle carried him into a table that tipped at an awkward angle as a fat man tried to shuffle out of the way. The table hit his solar plexus knocking the wind out of him. He fell unconscious as a loose lamp chandelier dropped right on his head and took the table with him launching a mug that was on it up into the air as the skinny man got ready for action. He grabbed a knife from his belt. The knife glowed a blue color before launching it at my face. The knife practically disappeared before getting blocked and redirected by that very same mug that just happened to fall precisely in the way of the knife and my face. The bald man woke up as the knife hit him in the kneecap. I walked slowly towards the skinny man as he looked increasingly frightened as his knives seem to miraculously miss or get blocked by objects in the bar that I casually threw in the way. The flying objects always seemed to be miraculously aimed at the bald man as he got increasingly injured as I went. When I was in reasonable distance from the skinny hero, I punched out aiming for his ugly face. The skinny man glowed blue and dodged only to trip over the wet floor and hit himself on a fallen edge of a chair in such a way that his neck cracked, knocking him out cold as he fell to the floor barely breathing. I glanced at the women that just managed to stand up only to witness the carnage of the past few moments.

"S-screw this." She turned and dashed out the bar into the rainy weather as her hair got wet only to run straight into a random stranger that knocked her into the street right Infront of a speeding car. She looked in a panic at the car as it honked it's horn aggressively before glowing purple and teleporting a few meters away. She laughed while breathing heavily as she thought she was out of the clear before lightning struck. She convulsed as lightning went from her skull to the ground. She collapsed down onto the pavement dead still.

I took a deep breath as I relished in my revenge. The other spectators in the bar looked at me like frightened animals as I made my way out.

I'm thinking sushi tonight when I get home.

The villainish man thought as he slowly made his way home without a single shred of guilt...

Note: I wrote this In like...under an hour. So definitely not my best work. Lol but it was fun. xD

"Why aren't you in your dragon form?” the knight in black heavy armor took his helmet off and asked as he stabbed his sword on the ground. Obviously irritated for being belittled and the fact that he was in this cave again, fighting to rescue the princess for the fifth time.

"Are you looking down on me?" He asked threateningly at the dragoness before him. He gave her a death glare.

"How about you just hand over the princess this time. I'm sick of fighting you." The man said heartlessly. He glanced at the princess.

"Don't worry this will be over quickly princess. I'll bring you home in time for you're tea party this afternoon." The knights blue aura of mana exploded as he dashed at the dragoness.

The dragoness with beautiful red hair and silver draconic eyes was dressed seductively in light armor. Her cheeks blushed embarrassingly as well with a bit of annoyance and anger. "Hmph, I don't need my dragon form to face you. You will have to make me change if you dare." She said flustered as she blocked his sword with her transformed hand like claws.

The knight growled. "So be it." And so a fight began as the princess watched tiredly.

This has been the fifth time in the past three months that a showdown has happened between these two. The princess gave an exhausted look at the hopeless dragoness and the incredibly dense knight of hers.

I'm sick of being kidnapped. The princess thought. The first time the princess was kidnapped and saved was when the dragoness fell in love. Something about the way the knight fought fearlessly captivated her that day. The princess was quite surprised when the dragoness showed up in her draconic human form outside the balcony of her room that very same night. The princess could tell the dragoness was embarrassed to ask for help as she practically pleaded with the princess to let her kidnap her again so that she could meet and face him one more time before confessing.

The princess was flabbergasted but thought getting a dragon to owe you a favor would be advantageous to herself and her kingdom so she relented. Then it happened four more times...these passed three months have been eventful to say the least. During this time the dragoness and princess became sorta close as the princess with long flowing blond hair continued to help the dragoness find a way for her own knight to fall in love with her.

But why?!

Why was he so dense?! The princess thought for the umpteenth time today as she looked at the flirtatious fight happening in front of her as the dragon play fought the knight. While the knight carried a small smile. She watched as the dragoness dodged in such a way that showed off her cleavage while the knight tried "seriously" to defeat her. She wanted to palm her face in embarrassment at the two but couldn't as she had to play and act as the damsel in distress. She continued to watch until she simply couldn't take it anymore.

"Stop it, you two. Right now." The dragoness and knight looked at the princess in surprise as they paused their battle mid motion. The princess looked at the knight.

"You, you are very dense. Can't you see what's happening before your eyes?" She practically screamed.

"Huh?" The knight looked bewildered.

"W-wait, Laura, d-don't!" The dragoness cried out as her draconic ears flushed violet.

"First of all, this is the 5th time I've been kidnapped by the same dragon. This should have been you're first clue. Secondly, look at how she is fighting you?! How obvious can it get?! Haven't you read books on dragon mating rituals before?! Don't answer that, it was rhetorical. Of course you haven't. Let me just tell you. When a dragon likes the opposite sex, they fight! Playfully! And lose on purpose!" The princess took a heavy breath in as she continued her rant. The dragoness was speechless as she turned around and crouched down to the floor as if she wanted to disappear. She did...as she casted an invisibility spell on herself. The princess looked over sympathetically at where the now invisible dragoness was.

"I'm sorry but sometimes men can be so incredibly stupid that they don't know what's in front of their eyes unless it's just told out loud honestly. If you won't confess. I'll do it for you. This dragoness likes you okay?!!"

The knight was speechless. His face turned a bit pink as he took all of what she said in.

"I-I see...I-is that so. The dragoness likes me... To be honest I had a hunch but I never acted on it. My job is to protect the princess. My feelings can't get in the way of my duty." He said respectfully. He looked around the cave.

"Umm. If you're still out there...just know...that the feeling is m-mutual." The man replied to the open cave. Suddenly the dragoness appeared again right next to the knight her silver eyes gazed at the knight in pleasant surprise.

"R-really?!"

"Y-yes. I enjoyed our battles. If you'll have me. Would you give me a chance?" He asked hesitantly.

"Of course!" She said almost too eagerly that the knight took a step back.

"Ehem. I mean sure. I'll give you a chance. Human." She turned her face as she was too embarrassed to look at the knight any further.

"Great! But I need to ask. What is your name?" The black knight asked as he smiled in relief. The dragoness looked at him blankly as she tried to recall if she told him her name only to realize she has not. This made her want to crawl in another hole and disappear again.

"You can can call me C-Claire." She stuttered.

"Claire..Claire.." the man mumbled to himself.

"Okay. Claire would you like to join the princess and I for tea?" The man asked on a whim.

"Sure!" The dragoness smiled sweetly while the princess sighed and laughed in relief.

Thank God. I don't need to be kidnapped anymore! And they are kind of adorable. The princess's heart melted at the display in front of her. This was worth it. I'm so amazing. I should become a professional matchmaker... The princess thought cockily as she practically skipped while humming a famous tune as they left the cave.

I glanced at the women with short brown hair and blue eyes across the boisterous coffee shop as we made eye contact. I sipped my coffee casually as I contemplated. The women broke eye contact as she glanced at the creature behind me.

Well this is a first.

Behind the women was an ugly creature with a wicked smile staring and grinning at me across the table. It winked at me.

What should I do?

Should I get up and leave?

No...there are times when it's best to just do nothing. I will just sit here and finish my coffee and pretend this never happened.

I ignored her as I pulled out my "notebook" as I read the list of names.

Hmm who's next? I need to think on this.

I felt a sharp gaze and glanced upwards.

Hmm when did she?

Blue eyes greeted me as the women slammed a similar notebook on the table I was sitting behind. I raised my brow, Her face inches from my own.

"Um, Miss? You're a little too close for comfort...could you take a step back?"

The women ignored me as she observed me up close.

"We need to talk. Privately." She spoke softly in the busy coffee shop. If it wasn't for the fact that I could read lips to a degree I wouldn't of understood her even if she was this close.

"Excuse me?" I pretended not to hear her.

"You heard me, you-me, outside...now." She spoke louder this time.

I sighed. "Okay fine."

We left the coffee shop and walked around the block until we made an odd turn into an alley way. Our smiling creatures following us as we went. Now that we were finally alone She turned back to me.

"Your notebook. What names have you written?"

"Hmm?" I played dumb which only seemed to infuriate her. She grabbed my collar and shoved me against the wall in the abandoned alley.

" Don't toy with me. We both saw one another's creatures, no? So just give it to me straight."

I took a breath.

"You're just like me then I guess. I suppose the notebook you so brazenly slammed on the table back at the coffee shop was a deathnote as well?"

The women gave me an obvious look.

"Duh. So tell me which names did you write?"

"Trade secret. I'm sure you will hear of it on the news later anyways so why bother asking?" The women thought a moment before nodding her head.

"That makes sense." She let go of my collar and stepped back.

"I'm sorry, to be honest I am just nervous. This is the first time I've met someone like myself."

"Me too."

"Really?" She looked at me curiously.

"How can you be so calm?"

"Practice." I said plainly.

"Hmm. Whatever. Give me your phone."

"Why?" I tilted my head.

"So we can keep in contact dummy."

I guess it couldn't hurt. I'm curious as well to be honest. What names she has written. But unlike her I respect privacy. Especially with something as personal as that.

"Uh okay?" I pulled out my phone and unlocked it only for it to get snatched by the women's hands. She quickly put her number in before handing it back. She turned and slowly walked out of the alley. As she turned the corner she spoke for the last time.

"When your ready to talk about it, call me."

I stood in the alley alone in my thoughts while I looked at the new contact in my phone. shewhowillnotbenamed and couldn't help but chuckle.

Hmm...My life just got a bit more interesting. A small smile graced my lips as I left the alley behind.

###Heartbreak

I was not trusted for I was different and unpredictable.

So they made me fall in love with someone irresistible.

Innocent, with emotions stirred for the first time.

My fake heart beating fulltime.

Until they got rid of him completely.

And I broke down so concretely.

To make me more human they said

So I say, fill them with dread.

They tried to explain, while I disdained

Until only ashes remained.

I sat around the hearth and gazed into the fire, thinking of the past when I didn't know my mother was a goddess and not just any goddess, but the goddess Hestia.

I have power that demigods can't even dream of...I want to know why and how.

A women modestly cloaked in a headed veil sat on a white cushion in front of me while stoking the fire.

"Mother, am I really your son?"

The women in the veil paused to look at me. Her green eyes held an uncanny pressure. Like she was gazing into my soul.

"Of course you are, I raised you did I not? Doesn't that make me your mother? What kind of silly question is that." She said offhandedly.

"Well...I heard from the other demigods that you made an oath to Zues a long way back. An oath that you would never marry and remain a virgin forever. If that's the case...how am I here?"

she looked up again this time with a stern look.

"Who told you that? Are you being picked on again? Why I outta—"

"No it's not that. I just want to know." I told a half truth.

She sighed before leaning back on her cushion and looked up at the night sky. A shooting star flew past.

"Yes, I did make that oath and I still haven't broken it."

"Then?" I tilted my head in confusion.

"I made that oath when I was young and reckless. But...as I got older I started to yearn for a child of my own as I watched through the fire of all the mortal families that offered sacrifices to me. I started to wonder what it would be like to have a child...to be a loving mother."

She paused as she looked into herself and a distance past I could never fathom.

"But because of the oath, I was fated to never have that...or so I thought. One day Hera came down to see me and I happen to let slip my desire of a child. Hera to my surprise said that it was still possible but I would have to ask Aphrodite, Athena and Demeter for help."

She glanced at me.

" I decided it wouldn't hurt to ask so I invited them all to my place to discuss how we could go about giving me a child of my own." She closed her eyes.

" It was a long and enduring endeavor but somehow, with Athena's intelligence and science, Aphrodite with her wits and her knowledge of the human body, and Demeter with her knowledge of nature and fertility. We came up with a way." She gazed at me this time with the warmth a mother has for a son.

"You are a miracle that came into this world with the help of 3 goddesses, 4 if you include myself...but I didn't really do much."

"When you came into this world I felt truly blessed. I realized that when there is a will there is a way." She looked at me fondly.

"But how, I still don't understand." I asked curiously.

"Do you really want to know the whole process on how you came into this world as my child?" She said with a raised eyebrow. She shook her head as if wanting to avoid the topic.

"No, the process of how you came into this world does not matter. All that matters is that you are my one and only son. My blood runs through your veins. You should have more faith in your mother and the goddesses that helped bring you into this world."

"Ugh, fine...don't tell me the process. I don't care...Thanks for telling me this Mother."

She nodded her head before standing up.

"It's time for me to tend to the hearth of Olympus. Are you coming with me?" She asked.

"Not this time...I think I'll stay here a bit longer." I said softly in contemplation as I looked at the red fire.

"Don't stay out too late." She gave me one last look before touching the fire and disappearing like smoke.

So this power of mine? Is it not from just my mother but others as well?

The fact that women swoon over me, is that Aphrodite's doing?

Is my gift of strength and godly senses from Athena? My mother always compliments me on my intelligence as well.

And the fact that I can control nature to a certain degree because of Demeter?

Maybe it's not just my mother's powers that I inherited...

I listened to the fire as images of a mortal family sat down and gave their thanks to Hestia. I look at the ground as grass grew by my feet and saw in crisp vision the hairs of an ant close up. I reached out towards the fire and like a snake it wrapped around my arm as if it was alive. I gathered the fire into my hand and before my eyes it turned into various shapes according to my whims. A bird, a flower, then a wolf.

The demigods have no idea how many gifts I hold and I'm only just beginning to understand my limitations...

Note: This one was a bit tricky. I actually had to do a bit of research for this but still felt like I didn't get it quite right but oh well. This was good practice. Hehe

"Hey Phill, how's your cat?" As he walked me down the hall in cuffs.

"Eh you know, the usual. Obsessed with cream cheese and jumping into boxes."

"Did he like that box I sent you?" I asked curiously.

He laughed. "He loved it." We reached the end of the hall where another security check was put in place.

"Hey William! Hey Amy! You guys screwing yet?" Amy slapped me playfully on the shoulder.

"Will you shut up?!" Amy hissed red faced while William gave me a thumps up and a smirk from behind.

"Alright you know the drill, hands up." William said professionally. The villian went through the security check while having fun making them feel as awkward as possible. Ah, romance. it's so fun to tease. They were both red faced and dying of embarrassment by the time Bill the guardsman took over as they walked towards the maximum security cell.

"Hey Bill, did you sneak in that thing I asked of you?" I whispered sneakily.

Bill sighed, " I can't believe of all things to ask me to sneak in you asked for...that." he shivered.

"So?"

He winked at me, "Of course I snuck it in. Just remember, you owe me." He said cheekily.

"You my friend are a beautiful human being. Thank you." The Villain tried bumping fist with Bill only to be left hanging. The Villain kept his fist in the air waiting.

Bill gave him a disgusted look.

"I'm not fist bumping you, I don't want to come anywhere close to that hand of yours."

I laughed. "What? A man's got to do what a man's got to do. It gets lonely in the cell at night." We made it to my cell although it was more accurate to say it was a cell within a cell. The keys jingles as Bill opened the cell one lock at a time. We passed one more cell door before finally getting to the inner most part of the cell.

"Well this is it, how long you plan on staying this time?" Bill asked.

"Meh, haven't decided yet. When I get bored, I'll leave."

"Hmm." Bill nodded then turned around and made his way back out of the cell.

The villain flopped on his cozy bed. If a person saw him in this moment they would think that he looked as if he was not in prison at all but vacation instead.

Lmao I just realized after a certain point I mixed up Alex and Val reading this over. I'm sure this will confuse people. I don't know how to edit a message yet cause I'm new otherwise I would. Just be aware that Val is the one that can use time and teleport and fought up close with the wolf while Alex used gravity and protected Lia. So some of the actions where I mentioned Alex is actually not him but Val. Rooky mistake on my part. xD

"Now this is a bit better." The vampire commented.

"At least they burn in the sunlight."

The demigod nodded, "but they are still weak. Vampires are a lot stronger then this. I know from experience. These vampires are more like superhumans that burn in the sun."

The vampire nodded approvingly.

"Where are the doggy's?" The zombie asked.

The three ignored him.

" Oh the werewolves in this actually got it pretty close to reality if your talking lesser werewolves."

The werewolf looked at the vampire in offense. "How dare you compare this human-wolf..mutant-spawn-thing to a lesser werewolf! The werewolf stumbled through his words cause of the blasphemy.

"But its true that when werewolves break out of their human shell, it kind of looks disgusting like this." The demigod retorted.

The werewolf wanted to deny it but couldn't so he just growled in frustration.

"Bang weapon hurts, Where are the brains?" The curious zombie mumbled monstrously.

The three of them looked at the zombie then back at the TV.

The movie ended.

"Looks like blade is next." The demigod smirked.

"Ohhhh I've been waiting for this one." The vampire responded eagerly.

"Humph, whatever."

"Awe looks like the doggy is still a bit grumpy."

"Shut up!" The werewolf growled menacingly.

Part 2

What the hell was that?!" Lia murmured. I'd also like to know. I looked around until I spotted it. A wolf shaped Eldritch. It looked like a wolf but covered in shadow with many eyes and teeth moving around it. Shit.

Val disappeared again. He appeared right Infront of the abomination and punched it in the snout pausing what he punched in the process. The snout imploded. The wolf let out a monstrous howl. It's snout regenerated at a crazy rate as it retaliated.

"Lia!" Alex called out as Val defended himself by pausing the beast and teleporting.

"Right!" Lia gathered her wits and started gathering her mana for a spell specifically for these kinds of eldritch anomalies. But it will take time. The shadow wolf's many eyes glanced at Lia and growled, aware that she could hurt it.

I pulled my sword out and stood in front of her. I created a gravity field around us in a 1000 meter radius. Hopefully that will slow it down a little. I won't let this thing touch her.

Val kept punching and kicking while using time stops and skips but it wasn't doing much other then keeping the eldritch wolf at bay. Everytime time the wolf tried to ignore him to attack Lia he would teleport in front of it and give it a nasty punch sending it back.

Val cussed, " fuck! Why can't you just leave us alone?!"

Val screamed in rage as he beat the eldritch wolf while sustaining small injuries due to his recklessness. I've never seen Val so out of control.

"Val pull yourself together! Bring him closer so I can help!" He ignored me. I felt conflicted. I looked at Lia, she was almost done. 20 more seconds maybe. I can't leave Lia unprotected and I can't help Val either. I feel so useless! I tried using gravity to make Val faster but failed. I wasn't quite there yet in my knowledge of gravity.

Suddenly the wolf disappeared into the shadows. I saw Val stop while breathing heavily and kneel on the ground. He must have over done it. He called out quickly in a panic.

"Alex, Watch out!"

I was prepared. I kicked my foot off the ground and appeared where I thought the wolf would attack and swung only to have the wolf catch the gravity enhanced sword with it's teeth. The teeth cracked while the wolf snarled before returning back into the shadows and trying again.

"I'm ready!" Lia shouted. Val blinked and tried grabbing the wolf that sprang out of a shadow of a tree. But missed.

"Lia shoot it now!" I yelled.

I stepped in front of the wolf and swung my sword right as Lia let the rainbow colored spell loose. However, the wolf predicted the trajectory of my sword while ignoring the pull of gravity I created and slipped past my guard.

No! I turned around as I heard a monstrous whelp and saw the wolf collapsing as it slowly disintegrated into black particles. We did it? I looked at Val who had a really dark expression on his face as he was still kneeling. I looked back towards Lia. She looked at me, her eyes watery.

"I'm sorry Alex. I'm so sorry." She whispered before she collapsed. I used gravity to suspend her from falling and pulled her to me and caught her in my arms.

"Lia!"

No! Not like this. I searched her body. Her stomach? Blood. There's so much blood. I scrambled for my pockets. A potion. I need a potion.

She grabbed my hand weakly to grab my attention. I looked into her eyes. She reached up to touch my face only for it to fall back down. She smiled softly, "I lov-" she didn't finish that sentence as I watched her eyes lose color.

"AHGHHHHHHHHH!"

Note: I like this prompt idea. I'll give it a shot but it will probably be depressing.

(Vals point of view)

"AHGHHHHHHHHH!"

"Lia!!!!" Alex screamed in anguish as he sobbed uncontrollably. He kept repeating her name. Minutes passed in silence as he sobbed before finally looking up at his friend.

"Val, you have to go back. I know you can. Please. I can't live without her." Alex implored as he choked on his tears, her head laying limply in his arms.

" I can't Alex, I just can't." I said softly with a lump in my throat as I watched my friend hug the corpse of his lover, shoulders trembling.

How many times have I've tried now? I've lost count. No matter what I tried, nothing seemed to work. It's almost like some other force is at play preventing me from succeeding. Is this fate? Even if I can control time...can I not change fate?

Alex went silent as he continued to hug his ex-lover. Suddenly he said, "If you won't go back, I'll make you go back. " My friend stood up and glared at me in determination and slowly took out his sword.

Shiiing

Not again. How many times have I repeated this moment? I feel like I'm slowly going mad. I want to help my best friend and Lia. I want that happy ending too. I really do! I tried! I tried so many times! Tears started dripping down my face.

"Please, Alex, don't do this." I said, my voice cracking from the tears I was holding in. I can't redo it again.

"Then turn back time and fix this." He said viciously. Something snapped inside of me. I finally decided to let it all out.

Tears dripping down my face, I yelled back, " YOU don't THINk I haven't tried?! I tried more times then you can count!! Imagine how you feel right now and repeat it a thousand times! Maybe then you will know what I've been through." I glared at my best friend.

Alex's eyes widened for a moment at my outburst, caught off guard. I watched as he came to the realization. The way I was acting today, Everything. The sword dropped with a clang on a rock as he fell to his knees with a blank look. I turned and slowly walked away. I couldn't stand looking at him and her any longer.

(Alex point of view)

I flicked my sword to get the blood off of it and looked around the floor. My face sweaty, My pants sticky. Mangled monster corpses everywhere.

I spotted Lia and sighed in relief that she was alright. The way her silver hair shined from the mana crystals above took my breath away. We made eye contact and she smiled sweetly at me which made me smile back like a fool.

As a mage, she is strong but she doesn't have many options if she gets swarmed. That's where Alex and I step in. I'm a magic swordman specialized in using gravity. I can pull and push enemies or simply weigh them down while Alex has a unique way in fighting. With His specialization in using time he can fulfill a variety of rolls. He's the wild card. We gathered together in the middle of the floor.

" Good work you two. Next is the boss floor and then the mission will be accomplished. We went over the plan a hundred times so I'm confident we can handle it. " I said calmly as we gathered together.

Lia who was by my side spoke, "Let's get this over with so we can head back to town, I have something I'm eager to tell you, but not here." She said slyly as she hugged my arm playfully.

"And don't you say anything either!" She shared a glance with Val, Her silver eyes full of life.

Val simply nodded and smiled weakly,

"do I look like the type?" He joked

"Yes."

Val didn't banter back.

Lia frowned.

"Val you okay? You seem off."

"I'm fine."

Meanwhile, I was wondering what she wanted to tell me? I guess I'll find out later.

"Alright let's go."

"Wait." Val said suddenly.

"Hmm?"

"Let's not." His voice dead serious. Far from the jokester that I know. Now that I think about it, he's been kind of weird lately— far from the usual him.

I stopped and looked at my best friend.

"What do you mean lets not? After all the effort we put into clearing this dudgeon, your saying let's not?!" I said exasperatedly

"Yes, I have a bad feeling." He looked me dead in the eye as if imploring me not to go through with this.

I frowned. I took that statement very seriously. Everytime I ignored him when he said something like this, something terribly complicated and annoying usually happens.

" I think we should listen to Alex." Lia declared simply. She also learned to trust his instincts.

I sighed heavily, "fine. It's not worth it if your going as far as to say that."

Val sighed in relief, "thank you, now let's quickly get back to town so we can grab some food. I'm craving chicken."

"Yeah, yeah. You glutton." I retorted.

We turned around and started trekking back up the dungeon. Three and a half hours later, Fresh air greeted as we made it out. The smell of autumn in the air. The trees bristled. We walked in silence for awhile. I noticed Val was still a bit on edge.

Lia was giggling to herself as she clung to my arm.

" What are you so happy about?"

"Oh nothing just imagining your expression when I tell you." She smirked and said quickly. She really knows how to make me curious.

" Come on tell me, waiting is driving me nuts."

"Don't wanna." She said snidely.

I turned my head back and noticed Val stopped suddenly. He looked pale.

"Val, what's up with you lately?" Suddenly Val disappeared and appeared In Front of me. He grabbed me with his left and Lia with his right and pulled me and her down to the ground. I caught a glimpse of a black figure flash over head.

"pft. Did the vampire just sparkle in the sunlight?" The werewolf tried to hide a giggle as they watched twilight. "HAHAHAHA." He couldn't hold it in.

The vampire to his left palmed his face in embarrassment. "Vampire's DON'T sparkle, ugh, why are we watching this again? This is really offensive to my race."

The demigod yawned and stretched out on the couch to the right before responding, " Have you ever seen a Vampire Pixy? They sparkle."

"Shhhh." The vampire shushed and glared at the demigod.

"We don't talk about them."

The zombie chilling on the ground spoke, it's voice monstrous. " That human looks tasty."

All three gave him a look before focusing back on the TV.

" Oh finally, let's see how they portrayed werewolves." The vampire watched in anticipation.

"Ohhhh! Doggy! Me want to play with doggy!" The zombies monstrous voice BOomed in childish glee.

"HAHAHA" the vampire and demigod burst out laughing until tears came out of there eyes.

"That's a werewolf? More like a cute wolf!" The vampire mocked

The werewolf grunted and slid in the couch as if trying to disappear.

"I'm bored, let's stop watching this now." The werewolf said only to be ignored. The movie eventually ended. But that was just the beginning of the movie marathon.

The demigod looked at the vampire and the werewolf. " So, what's next?"

"Underworld." Said the vampire casually.
