On vacay week. The toddler keeps asking if this is the weekend. Went and looked at flooring since that's all we can do as we impatiently wait for our house to close. Got more pho to live up to the last of this cold snap. Going to venture to the park this afternoon. Probably do city stuff the next few days.

Had a lot of meetings because we're finally hiring a new employee for my team (which has officially put me into the 'lead/manager' role). Also overly caffeinated.

Thinking about getting the annual membership to Lewis Ginter - seems like the thing to do if you're going to go as a family more than few times during the year.

Going nowhere because of that work from home life. Enjoying the dreary drizzle out the window - it helps with the "ahh I want to go play outside" FOMO.

Had relatives stay with us this past weekend. They said their bronchitis wasn't contagious. My incredibly sore throat and general malaise today would disagree with that. Hoping I'm better'ish by Thursday so we don't have to cancel all our plans.

Finishing settling in to our new apartment. Hitting the thrift stores for a bistro set, bookshelf and possibly a bike.

We looked at 7 houses yesterday and I am tuckered right out. Figured out we don't want to live in the West End though ... so we have that going for us.

Duuuude - I used that station last week and I felt super sketch! I was checking my accounts for days after.

Edit: This prompted me to temporarily freeze that card. :P

Harvestfest Makers Market at Lewis Ginter on Saturday, walking around Hanover on Sunday to see the houses (but not deal with the Monday crowds), and then checking out our apartments Halloween party on the actual day.

Still need to put my costume together, my wife and daughter are being cats. Open to suggestions.

Ahh, you nailed it - it's a pseudo paradise if you're not a boat/sun/heat lover. Mostly it's hot, detached, and honestly boring.

I am a born and raised South Floridian and just moved to Richmond.

In the 3 days I've been here I have seen more wildlife, diversity, inclusion, kitschy charm and llamas than I ever saw in Florida.

Feel validated, but at least you're about to go into the beautiful time of year so hopefully you can enjoy some outdoor time.
