Yeah that's the law they really can't let anything slide nowadays. The state owns cameras in every inspection station recording the whole thing. Just get legal tint, it's not worth the hassle. If you really want it get it done after you get a sticker. I had super dark tint before and never had any trouble from the police for it but getting a sticker was a PITA. I knew someone who would let it slide but they can't get away with that anymore. The dark driver and passenger windows kinda sucked while driving at night, too.

Horseneck beach is kinda nice and often overlooked. Westport and the part of Dartmouth near there are quaint and pretty. Lots of fields and old farmhouses. It's cool to drive out on the causeway to Gooseberry Island and go for a walk. There's probably not much else to do in the area though. Mirasol's Cafe and New York Bagel are good and not too far away. You could even drive over to New Bedford and hit up the Whaling Museum after. There is a good Burger Joint and good Mexican restaurant nearby and lots of good Portuguese restaurants, you could go and get some Shrimp Mozambique.

It's a sin for Christians to use the lord's name in vain and some will get offended when other people do it. Generally it's socially acceptable in America but it's kinda rude to be going around spouting religious epitaths. I'm atheist now but I was raised Catholic. When people at work yell out stuff like "Jesus Christ!" It still sounds like they are dropping the F-bomb to me. It's not really appropriate for school or work. This might be a good time to break this habit. Imagine the shit show if he replaced the word "God" with "Allah" or was yelling "oy vey." If he's getting in trouble at school for it he should probably stop.

Not very similar but I have a CVS story too.

Back when it was still kinda hard to schedule a covid booster shot, I used that state website for finding appointments. The only thing available in my area was an appointment at CVS, at like 2am on December 31. I thought that was weird but I knew it was a 24h CVS and I was able to make it so I booked the appointment. When I showed up there was just one guy working the pharmacy and he kinda protested when I said I was there for my vaccine. He said it was the middle of the night, he was the only one there, and the computers were about to shut down. I held my ground and said I had an appointment. He hurriedly entered my info on his computer and gave me my shot.

All in all it was a success but I live in a small town where nothing is open late so it felt pretty surreal. I don't know if the appointment was a glitch in the website or what, he acted like nobody ever shown up for a shot that late.

The other weird thing is if you pick up a prescription for a pet you have to tell them your pets date of birth and it has to match the one the vet told them when they filed the prescription. It was kinda funny telling them "He's a cat. He was born in a barn. He doesn't have a birth certificate." but also very frustrating to get turned away for forgetting what made up birthday my vet had used.

In my experience the Walmart, Stop and Shop, and independent pharmacies were much more organized and efficient, and the employees were relaxed. The ones at CVS are always stressed out and disorganized. Some of the techs were really sweet but shopping there was so aggravating.

Not here on the Upper Cape. The coldest I saw last night was 0°F (wasn't paying too much attention tho, maybe it got a bit colder). I think it was 5-6 years ago we hit -10°F at least once and had more cold days overall.

-23 is crazy though! I'm always amazed how different it can be in other parts of Mass.

It must depend on the place doing the inspection. I've had one jack up one side of the car to look underneath and another that put my boss' car on the lift to check the tightness of the front end, which they ended up failing him for.

Some places definitely do as little as possible but there are some that really try hard to fail you. They are on camera now so there is less they can get away with.

That's insane. My gas and electricity combined are like 1/5 of that, but I have gas heat and appliances and my house is a bit smaller. You can get a thing called a Kill-a-watt that plugs into the wall and you plug your electronics into it and it will tell you how much power they're using. That might help you figure out why you're using so much power. You can also look into switching your electric provider for a better rate. The state has a website for it. I don't remember the address but you can find it easily if you Google "Massachusetts energy suppliers" or something along those lines.

So you thought 90 was the posted speed limit? Are you from Massachusetts? The highest speed limit we have here is 65. Maybe you could get a judge to reduce your fine or something if you act apologetic but I doubt blaming the police is gonna work. It would be pretty funny if they gave the cop a ticket too though.

If you're thinking of fighting this one and using that defence you should probably retrace that route and see if you passed any speed limit signs. If there aren't any on that stretch of road you may have a valid argument. I think you would have better luck just pretending you didn't know you were going so fast and asking for leniency.

The cop who writes the ticket isn't always the one who shows up in court if you fight it, so they may not even know anything more than what the cop wrote down on the ticket, and you could play it off like you just accidentally went over the speed limit briefly.

Okay. It's kind of a regional thing. Your best bet is to go to www.energyswitchma.gov and see what's cheapest in your zip code. I think all the companies make you sign up for a contract, could be anywhere from 1-3 years. The difference is some charge a cancellation fee and some auto-renew when your time is up. Be careful because there are companies that offer a low introductory rate to get you into a contract but in the fine print you'll see that the price goes way up after a few months, these offers usually come in the mail. If your area has a "municipal aggregation program" that will be your best bet. It's a local collective that negotiates with the companies for better rates. If there's one in your area it'll come up on that website.

You can literally Google "Massachusetts electric providers" and get several resources that name the electric providers with their websites, email, and phone numbers. The first, second and third search results all list this info.

The delivery fees have existed for at least the last 20 years. They supposedly pay for the infrastructure that gets the electricity to your house. It's a bit different from going to the gas station, the gas station isn't delivering anything, but they absolutely do include the cost of transportation in the price you pay at the pump. I couldn't tell ya why the electric company breaks down these costs on your bill but the gas station doesn't.
