Send my 12 mini to the store to get a battery replacement at 84% health, mainly because there was a 109$ to 145$ (AUD) price price inflation starting March. Came back 2 hours later to them saying they ‘found’ the side button to be broken, handed me an exact new replacement, canceled the 109$ battery estimate and resent me a $569 repair. There was no warranty on the phone anymore, but said the $569 was covered by warranty and I didn’t have to pay a cent, including the 109$ for just the battery.
At the bottom of the email said “Thank you for choosing AppleCare for the repair of your Apple product.” Seems to me they just broke something and couldn’t fix it, cause I definitely don’t have AppleCare lol.

Yeah Apple is good for this. There was one time I had a phone to old to replace. They ended up just giving me a newer phone and I didn’t pay shit.
